A downloadable game

Background Information:

In 2010, Disney Interactive Studio, Junction Point, released Epic Mickey, a Wii game featuring the infamous cartoon character. It has been claimed to be the best Mickey Mouse video-game to date with it's creative idea, presentation, music, etc.

Unfortunately, Junction Point has shut down after the release of Epic Mickey 2 and Epic Mickey: Power Of Illusion. All hope was lost that Epic Mickey would never return again, causing the world to forget this legendary series. Until now...

Epic Mickey 2.5 is developed by YouTuber, Bane. And it looks extremely promising, I strongly advise to check it out for yourself if you haven't yet.

In 2024, as of recent, Steamboat Willie and that version of Mickey has entered the public domain, allowing all to use Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse in projects of their own. As a huge Epic Mickey fan myself, I thought this would be a great time to make a new entry. It may not be as good but it is a start. Which is where Willie: Return To Wasteland comes into play.

The Basic Story:

The game follows Mickey Mouse, a famous sailor known across the world. He and his wonderful girl, Minnie, travel the shifting waters, delivering cargo and exploring new areas.

During one of his many travels, Mickey loses all control of his ship, drifting off a nearby waterfall. As he and Minnie plummet to the ground below, a gaping hole at the bottom opens, sucking our hero into a mysterious world. Entering the unknown portal-esque hole, Minnie is lost, no longer with Mickey. With a gulp, Mickey steers his trademark boat through the darkness, when memories of his past circle him for many moments. As he nears a white glare in the distance, the resemblance of Steamboat Willie's contract diminishes in front of Mickey's eyes, no longer owned by Disney.

Popping out the other end of the bright void, Mickey drifts into clear water once more, this time in a world he has never seen before. Looking around, he finds old merchandise, broken homes, debris and so much more.

Docking at a nearby dock, Mickey enters the forgotten world of Wasteland, a land full of forgotten characters and beings lost in the hands of copyright loss.

Meeting the character of Oswald The Lucky Rabbit, Mickey must help fix the world he has to live in with his expiration date now applied with his help. Using the power of Paint and Thinner, join Mickey as he travels through the many forgotten characters and their imaginative worlds, determined to bring peace to the land and rescue his Minnie from the forced of evil.

Gameplay:

Willie: Return To Wasteland will be featuring the staple paint and thinner, though, it will be reworked in order to suit PC needs and be a little more interesting. The classic spin attack will be present, with the double jump.

But the gameplay change is the ability to operate the icon of Steamboat Willie. Mickey will be able to transport through projectors to unreachable areas, but he will now be using his boat to meet new characters and discover the truth.
